March is here, and Vancouver is waking up. This week brings a packed calendar — live dance from six continents, a run fuelled by chocolate, wine from 14 countries, and a chance to march for something that matters. Spring energy is building. Here's what's happening in our city.

This Week's Events

This is one of those weeks where it's hard to pick just one thing. There's live performance, community sport, cultural celebration, and a chance to literally march through the streets together. What we love about weeks like this is the range — there's something here whether you want to sit in a candlelit church listening to choral harmonies or lace up your shoes and run the Seawall. The common thread? Every one of these events brings people together.

Give Back: Volunteer Spotlight

Vancouver is better when we show up for each other — not just at events, but in the quieter moments too. Here are two ways to give your time this month. Both are genuinely needed and easy to get started with.

Greater Vancouver Food Bank

Volunteer applications opened March 2nd. The Food Bank needs help with food sorting, repackaging, and preservation — and they're specifically looking for interpreters who speak Farsi, Mandarin, or Cantonese. No experience needed, just be 15+ and complete a free criminal record check. A hands-on way to make a real difference in our city.

YWCA Metro Vancouver — Business Mentors Needed

YWCA's PowerUp Ready program is a 10-week entrepreneurship training course for women starting or growing their businesses. They're looking for volunteer business mentors to provide guidance and support. If you've got business experience and want to help lift someone up, this is a meaningful commitment.

That's the Scoop for this week. See you out there, Vancouver.
